'Feel The Spirit' Campaign

Project Goal: Gain traffic to the BallStateDaily.com website. We will be running a contest for visiting the website. To enter, any Ball State University student would click on a special link available from a link on the website, provided on social media, and displayed through a QR Code on flyers. *Increase website impressions by 10%.*

Campaign Timeline

Established a contest as part of Homecoming week and Halloween. The contest would take place on the website and be promoted across multiple media types, including digital and traditional media. The contest ran during Homecoming week a few weeks before Halloween in 2022.

Audience and Expectations

The main audience was Ball State University students who are not currently aware of Ball State Daily. The aim is to capture their attention with a contest and in the process, they will learn about BallStateDaily.com and the resources it supplies to them.

How the Contest Worked

Participants were asked to "show their spirit to feel the spirit". To enter the contest they visited a specific page on BallStateDaily.com and entered their name and school email address. The winner would then be randomly selected at the end of the contest period.

-First place received a hand-painted tailgate table, 4 VIP Indy Scream Park tickets and a $50 visa gift card.

-Second place received a tailgate gift set and 4 Indy Scream Park tickets

-Third place received 4 Indy Scream Park tickets

Results

The goal of this contest was to increase the impressions to the BallStateDaily.com website by 10%. This contest grew the impressions by 12% and the contest overall received over 300 entries.
